SUMMER CAMP_ Updated
Directive has been issued that the Cadet Training Program including Summer Camp Training has been cancelled until 31 Aug 2020.  see below excerpt...

"The decision has been made to cancel all in-person Cadet and JCR training activities until 31 August 2020 and have directed that every Cadet and JCR have their training qualifications for this current training year marked as completed. This cancellation decision will affect local training, corps and squadron trips, cadet summer training and activities, in-person training for Cadet Instructors Cadre officers, and, in coordination with the Canadian Army, the JCR enhanced training sessions." For more detailed information from the Commander and Formation Chief Warrant Officer for the latest on the status of the Cadet Training Program, please see the following Facebook Link dated 15 April

 The Cadet Summer Training Programs are allocated for the following Serial Offerings

Summer Camp Details 2020 will be posted mid-January 2020


1. Green Star - General Training (2 weeks) Serial B: TBD- Blackdown - CFB Borden
2. Red Star - Basic Level -  Adventure / Sports & Fitness / Drill & Ceremonial (3 weeks) - Blackdown - CFB Borden
Serial A:    TBD             or Serial B: TDB

Marksman - CFB Connaught - Serial A: TBD or Serial B: TBD
3. Silver Star -  Instructor Level - Leadership / Adventure / Sports & Fitness / Marksman / Drill & Ceremonial (6 weeks) TBD - Blackdown - CFB Borden

4. Gold Star & NSE - Advance Camp & Staff Opportunities (6 weeks) 8 July to 16 Aug

Camps are hosted at either the Blackdown (CFB Borden) & Connaught (CFB Connaught-Nepean) Cadet Summer Camp Training Facilities with the exception of Advance Camps which may vary.

Summer Camp Joining Instructions 201x  (to be posted at a later date)
If you are attending one of the following Cadet Summer Training Centres (CSTC) kindly refer to the respective Joining Instructions (JIs) for the centre you will be attending. It is very important that you read and comply with all of the directives outline in the JIs.  Cadets must have on hand the day of travel to CSTC, the following documents to present to the Escort Officer on the bus.
  • Original Offer of Participation
  • Transportation Form &
  • Ontario Health Card
Cadets will not be able to travel to Camp on the Bus without these items. Should you miss the timings for the scheduled transportation you will be responsible to drive your cadet(s) to the respective CSTC at your sole expense. Ensure your cadets arrive at the departure location a minimum of 1/2 hr. prior to the departure time. This will permit time for check in with the Escort Officer, documentation review and loading of the buses.

Transportation (Bus) details will be communicated in detail to cadets/parents via email approximately one (1) week prior to departure. It is imperative that you respond to the Summer Camp Officer that you have received these details.

...Note...Actual dates for departure/ arrival to summer camp may vary therefore, ensure you communicate with the Summer Camp Officer regarding your departure and arrival times.

           Cadet Applications for Participation Camp forms  ...it is imperative that your Summer Camp Pre-Registration forms are to be returned ASAP (Deadline is 6 February 2020) they have to be entered into FORTRESS and this takes time!

Delays can prevent cadets from being selected to a camp allocation.  Remember there are only so many candidates chosen for each serial.  Not everyone can be selected.

                               Deadline for CIC & Staff Cadet Applications:

Please note that the RCSU Staffing Section personnel will do their utmost best to notify personnel selected for persons by the Notification NLT date however, depending the workload volume this may not be possible.

Email Addresses:

It is imperative, that all personnel applying for positions ensure that the RCSU Staffing section have been provided with a valid email address – for CIC, COATS and CIs should be included on application; Staff Cadets must ensure that email
address in Fortress is kept current.

Those individuals being Offered positions at CSTCs will receive documentation via email. Please ensure you check your Junk/Spam folders as sometimes correspondence from the RCSU Staffing Section is delivered to those folders.
